Our Privacy Commitment

PhotoStrip is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your photos are your business, and we've designed the app to ensure your files remain completely private.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data whatsoever. This means:

  • No personal information is collected
  • No usage analytics or tracking
  • No crash reports sent to external servers
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No third-party analytics SDKs
  • No network requests of any kind

Photo Processing

All photo processing happens entirely on your device:

  • Photos are never uploaded to any server
  • No cloud processing is used
  • No network requests are made during processing
  • The app works completely offline
  • Only photos you explicitly select are accessed

Photo Access

PhotoStrip uses Apple's PhotosPicker — a privacy-first photo selection method that requires zero permission prompts. Photos are loaded out-of-process, meaning the app never has access to your full photo library.

When saving processed photos, PhotoStrip uses write-only access (PHPhotoLibrary.addOnly). This means the app can save photos to your library but cannot read or browse your existing photos.

AI Suggestions

PhotoStrip's AI-powered compression suggestions use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. These run entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server, including Apple's servers. The AI processing requires no internet connection.

Local Data Storage

PhotoStrip stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Your preferred processing presets (SwiftData)
  • App preferences and settings (UserDefaults)
  • Processing history for the before/after view

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

No Account Required

PhotoStrip does not require any account creation or sign-in. There is no registration, no email collection, and no user profiles.

Third-Party Services

PhotoStrip does not integrate with any third-party services that collect data. The app uses StoreKit 2 (Apple-native) for purchases — no third-party payment processors like RevenueCat are used. The only external connection is to Apple's App Store for purchase verification, which is handled entirely by Apple.

Children's Privacy

Since we don't collect any data, PhotoStrip is safe for users of all ages.
