General Questions

What does PhotoStrip do?
PhotoStrip is a batch photo toolkit that lets you resize, compress, convert formats, strip metadata, and add watermarks to hundreds of photos at once. It's designed for anyone who needs to process multiple photos quickly — photographers, social media managers, privacy-conscious users, or anyone running out of storage.
What image formats are supported?
PhotoStrip reads and writes all 6 major formats: HEIC, JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and GIF. You can convert between any combination.
How many photos can I process at once?
The free tier allows 5 photos per batch with all features unlocked. A one-time $4.99 Pro purchase removes the batch limit — process hundreds of photos at once. PhotoStrip handles large batches without crashing by processing sequentially with memory management.
Is there a subscription?
No. PhotoStrip has no subscription. The Pro upgrade is a one-time $4.99 purchase that lasts forever. There are no ads in either the free or paid version.
What iOS version is required?
PhotoStrip requires iOS 26 or later.

Features & Usage

What metadata can I strip from photos?
You can remove GPS location data, camera and lens information, timestamps, or all metadata at once. You can preview exactly what data each photo contains before deciding what to remove.
What resize modes are available?
PhotoStrip offers 7 resize modes: scale by percentage, fit within bounds, crop to fill, exact dimensions, target width, target height, and custom. Plus 6 built-in presets for Instagram, Twitter/X, HD, 4K, and more.
How does the AI suggestion feature work?
PhotoStrip uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to analyze your photos and suggest optimal compression settings. The AI runs entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server. It recommends quality levels that maximize space savings while preserving visual quality.
Can I add watermarks to my photos?
Yes. You can add text watermarks or overlay your own logo/image. Customize the position, size, opacity, font, color, and rotation. Watermarks are applied to every photo in the batch.

Privacy & Purchases

Does PhotoStrip upload my photos anywhere?
No. All processing happens entirely on your device. PhotoStrip has no server, no cloud storage, no analytics, and no account system. Your photos never leave your phone.
Does it work offline?
Yes. PhotoStrip works 100% offline. No internet connection is needed for any feature.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Go to Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases." Your Pro unlock is tied to your Apple ID and transfers automatically.

Tips & Tricks

Use AI Suggestions

Let PhotoStrip's AI analyze your batch and recommend the best compression settings. It balances quality and file size automatically.

Strip Before Sharing

Always strip metadata before sharing photos online. GPS data in your photos can reveal your location to anyone who downloads them.

Share Sheet

Use PhotoStrip from the Share Sheet in any app. Select photos, tap Share, and choose PhotoStrip to process them without opening the full app.

Convert to WebP

WebP files are typically 30-50% smaller than JPEG at the same quality. Convert your photos to WebP for websites and social media.
